One's first experience of the 'convenient' huts in the lay-bys (which house the dry toilets) can be tinged with a little bit of spookiness. You enter the clean wooden hut & are immediately surprised to find toilet paper! When you lift the lid, of what appears to be a conventional toilet, you see a large dark hole with possibly an endless bottom, if you pardon the association? It's not what you do into the large dark hole, or even in fact how far it travels before meeting some kind of resistance, it's the fact that in a little corner of the back of your mind you're thinking that something down there MAY actually.......
