Latitudinally speaking we are in Scotland (about on a par with Aberdeen), unfortunately climatologically speaking we also are, it's ...................down here, but you don't come to Northern Europe expecting sunshine! Will we ever see it again? I'm confident we will.
Presently sitting on site overlooking a rainy Solway Firth, I mean Nibe Bredning, which is just outside Aalborg. Plan A was to have a day off and stay on an aire, unfortunately the one we chose was in an out of date book and in the 6 years since its publication they had built a motorway! We will resume work tomorrow morning but for now..........."Brian, you'll have to go in the cellar if you want wine with this meal".
On our trip North we called in to see an old guy at Silkeborg. When I say old we are talking really old, The Tollund Man is about 350 years..........BC! Found in a peat bog in the 1950s. I can assure you that we are not developing a theme, first a photo of a graveyard then a dead person, it is purely coincidental.

Ah I'm jealous! Seen various bog bodies in museums over the years but always wanted to see Tolund Man. Thanks for the photos 😊
ReplyDeleteThought it was going to be a bit scary as the lights wouldn't come on at first when we entered the room but thankfully they flickered into life eventually. Quite amazing, the stubble on his chin is still visible!
